Ostelin Cal-DK2
What it is used for
Optimised Calcium Delivery Vitamin D promotes calcium absorption. Vitamin D is required for optimal calcium and phosphorous absorption. Vitamin D is required to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphate, which are in turn needed for the normal mineralisation of bone, muscle contraction, nerve conduction, and general cellular function in all cells of the body. Vitamin K is responsible for the carboxylation of the bone protein, osteocalcin, to its active form. Osteocalcin regulates the function of calcium in bone turnover /bone mineralisation/ bone development. MK-7 may play a role in bone health; MK-7 may be involved in bone health/maintenance of healthy bone/normal bone health. May help to maintain bone mineral density. Helps to form and maintain strong bones. Vitamin D is an important nutrient for strong healthy bones. For optimal delivery of calcium into the bones. Clinically trialled dose of Vitamin K2 (MK-7) which may help decrease bone loss in postmenopausal women. Supplementation of K2 (MK-7) may help decrease bone loss in postmenopausal women; Maintaining adequate Vitamin K2 (MK-7) levels may help decrease bone loss in post- menopausal women. Calcium is essential for bone mineralisation. Adequate serum vitamin D level is required for bone and muscle health. Vitamin D is essential for the absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D is important for absorption of calcium and phosphorous from the small intestine, extracellular calcium homeostasis and mineralisation of the skeleton. Vitamin D is required throughout life. Vitamin D is essential for the efficient utilisation of calcium by the body. Vitamin D is required to develop and maintain healthy bones/ healthy skeleton. Adequate vitamin D is required to maintain normal calcium metabolism. Adequate vitamin D nutrition is particularly important for calcium absorption in older people. Vitamin D supplementation has a beneficial effect on balance and muscle strength. Vitamin D is involved in bone mineralisation / Supports bone mineralisation. May improve bone mineral density/content and thereby improving bone strength. Increases bone mineral density. Calcium supplementation reduces bone loss in postmenopausal women . Vitamin D helps support muscle function. May reduce the risk of falls in healthy elderly women by 22%. May reduce the risk of falling in elderly over 65 by 19%. May reduce risk of falling in elderly over 65. May help maintain muscle strength in the elderly who have low level of vitamin D. May reduce the risk of falls, most likely due to improved muscle tone and strength. Vitamin D may help maintain a healthy immune function/system. Vitamin K works synergistically with Vitamin D for bone health. Adequate vitamin D status is important for both maternal and foetal/infant well-being. Calcium helps reduce bone density loss in pregnant, post-menopausal and elderly women. Helps in the development and maintenance of bones and teeth. Important for the structure and strength of teeth. Calcium is required for normal growth and development of the skeleton. Aids in the achievement of peak bone mass. Reduces the risk of thinning/fragile bones.
