What it is used for
In adults and children 6 years and over, cetirizine is indicated for the relief of symptoms associated with:,. Season allergic rhinitis (hay fever). Symptoms treated effectively include sneezing, rhinorrhoea, post-nasal discharge, nasal pruritus, ocular pruritus and tearing and redness of the eyes.,. Perennial allergic rhinitis. Symptoms treated effectively include sneezing, rhinorrhoea, post-nasal discharge, nasal pruritus, ocular pruritus and tearing.,. The uncomplicated skin manifestations of chronic idiopathic urticaria. It significantly reduces the occurence, severity and duration of hives and markedly reduces pruritus. As with other antihistamines, patients should be advised to seek medical advice about the possibility that their urticaria is associated with ingestion of certain foods.
